Emergency Medicine Program Specific Information
Residents of the Sunrise Health GME Consortium located at MountainView
Hospital in Emergency Medicine will rotate between MountainView Hospital
and Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. MountainView Hospital is a 340
bed, full service, acute care facility, located in the northwest area
of Las Vegas.
Sunrise Hospital is a 664 bed, Level II Trauma center located in downtown
Las Vegas. Emergency medicine residents will work at both high-volume,
high-acuity facilities. The combined emergency department volume places
MountainView Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program among the nation’s
busiest training programs.
The Sunrise Health Graduate Medical Education Consortium currently includes
ACGME accredited Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology,
Transitional Year and Family Medicine programs. The Emergency Medicine
Residency Program is hosted at MountainView Hospital and the majority
of non-emergency medicine rotations will be under the faculty of the other
MountainView Hospital training programs. Sunrise rotations include urban
emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine and trauma.
The Department of Graduate Medical Education is located in the newly constructed
educational building at MountainView Hospital, offering abundant learning
labs, conference rooms, a to-be-built simulation lab, and a 200+ seat
auditorium. State-of-the-art Internet conferencing is available in the
classrooms as well as the main auditorium.
