Program Specific Information

Residents of the Sunrise Health GME Consortium located at Southern Hills Hospital in Family Medicine will rotate at Southern Hills Hospital for most inpatient and subspecialty rotations, at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center for pediatrics inpatient and pediatrics emergency medicine, and Continuity Clinic is based at the Nevada Health Center’s Martin Luther King Health Center in north Las Vegas as well as other NVHC centers for pediatrics outpatient and women’s health. A unique offering is the focused addiction medicine block at the Las Vegas Recovery Center. Southern Hills Hospital is a 186-bed, full service, acute care facility, located in the southwest area of Las Vegas.

The Sunrise Health Graduate Medical Education Consortium currently includes ACGME accredited Family Medicine and Transitional Year programs based at Southern Hills Hospital and Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Transitional Year, Emergency Medicine, and Anesthesiology programs at MountainView Hospital. The Family Medicine Residency Program is hosted at Southern Hills Hospital, an award-winning facility that is also certified by The Joint Commission. Combining advanced digital technology with an accomplished medical staff, Southern Hills Hospital’s advanced care and superior service make for better outcomes and an exceptional patient experience.

The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program at Southern Hills Hospital is also expanding in several ways this year. A new dedicated GME space on the first floor of the Medical Office Building II was recently completed during the first quarter of 2018. This area includes 12 faculty and staff offices; two conference rooms; a 70-person classroom; resident-only space such as sleeping, computer and locker rooms, with a gym, kitchen, dining space and lounge.
